BIRDS --

Yesterday as I hung out laundry I was watching overhead as this Chickadee flew from the feeders to the bush to crack open the sunflower seed which he held between his feet --

Overhead a flock of geese was "honking" its way to a nearby pond or cornfield.

In the Spruce tree nearby was a Downy Woodpecker.  He flew to the suet and I stepped closer and closer to get pictures.  I understand the tuft of feathers at the top of his beak protects his eyes from flying objects as he pecks away at the suet or at a tree searching for bugs --

A nearby pond reflects lovely red berry bushes --

A cardinal keeps one eye on me as he eats from a berry bush --

SUNSHINE (We've had sunshine and near 70 degree temperatures the last couple of days!) --

Warming the Titmouse --

Shining on the Goldfinch --

Helping to warm the water in the heated birdbath --

On the birdhouse and frosted Goldenrod --

Reflecting on the curtain --

Coming in the front window --

In the face of Miss. Prim --

On an angel given to me by my sister years ago --

On my Christmas Cactus which has bloomed again --

Shining brightly through the Spruce tree before going down --

A MORNING DRIVE WITH MY "FRIEND" --

Yesterday I got to go out for a little morning drive with my camera and discovered there is still a little color left in our area --

I went up a one lane road to see if I could find any deer or coyotes which I've seen before and on my way back down after not being successful in my search, I looked into my rear view mirror and discovered a monster deere chasing me down the hill!! -- (for those of you unfamiliar -- it's a John Deere tractor hauling the "honey wagon!") --

Berries for the birds --

Wild grapes --

Lonely apple too high for a deer to reach --

A gaggle of domestic geese --

Mallard ducks on the pond --

Gathering for winter meals --

Picnic, anyone? (Those are ant hills!) --

Mrs. Cardinal high in a tree --

Another Mrs. Cardinal in a bush eating berries --

Chickadee eating goldenrod seeds --

My day was made when I spotted this Bittersweet -- it doesn't grow well in our area (I believe we might be too far north) -- and when on occasion I find it I get really excited!! -- It's great for fall decorating.  It's a very invasive vine and I'm sure not as well liked by many as it is by me!! --
